The Association

The Gypsum Hill Recreation Association was formed by the developer of the subdivision for the use and enjoyment of all the residents in May 1973.

We are NOT a Homeowners Association, but instead were formed solely for the maintenance of the common area.

The Property

The common area is described as a 5.5 acre lot that has a shallow pond of about 3.0 acre size. It is surrounded on three sides by property owners and the fourth side by County Road, Shelter Lane.

It is considered owned by the Association, made up of the owners of the individual lots.

The Management

The articles of Incorporation caused to be formed a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Additional positions could be added at the discretion of the board as necessary.

THE POND

Fishing

The pond has been stocked in the past but has not been so for many years. There are fingerlings in the tributaries and large fish can occasionally be seen breaking the surface.

Recreation

Over the past 40 years the Board has installed a variety of improvements. For the most part, these have been under utilized and therefore, not well maintained. Volunteers are always welcome to submit ideas for the Boards consideration for any renovation, replacement or addition of recreational improvements.

Maintenance

The annual dues currently set at $50 are due no later than May 1 of each year to fill the account for the spring and summer maintenance. This consists mainly of mowing the grassy areas and performing maintenance on the many mature trees surrounding the pond.
